Spring’15 Class notes Day 4: GUI history & Definitions of important concepts

We discussed interface paradigms:

  1. command-line
  2. WIMP (windows, icons, menus, pointing)
  3. advanced (i.e. natural user interfaces like Kinect, speech interfaces, etc.)

I showed you sketchnotes, a combination of notes, sketches and doodles that are very popular among UX folk. I then asked you to play with creating sketchnotes that show how certain people and products contributed to the GUI as we know it today. Here’s the article Joshua recommended about getting started with sketchnotes.

You then worked on creating visual representations of important definitions related to UX.
